We invite you to explore our website for more information about our community and how Grace / La Gracia can help you build relationships and deepen your connection with God. Please join us for a Sunday service or any of our community events to experience firsthand the warmth and vibrancy of our church family.

Our Services

We offer a number of services at Grace on Sunday, and throughout the week. On Sundays, we offer five services:

  • 7:30 a.m. – our traditional (Rite I) Holy Eucharist service
  • 8:45 a.m. – our La Gracia Santa Eucaristía service (en español) with music
  • 9:00 a.m. – Little Church with Eucharist, the worship service especially for families with small children
  • 10:30 a.m. – our Choral Eucharist. We alternate throughout the year between traditional and contemporary language. We use incense for high holy days, and for Advent, Christmas, and Easter.
  • 5:00 p.m. – a simple spoken Holy Eucharist with a bit of a contemplative flair.

What is the Episcopal Church?

The mission of The Episcopal Church, as stated in the Book of Common Prayer, is “to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.” In step with that mission, we follow Jesus into loving, liberating, and life-giving relationships with God, with each other, and with the earth.  Visit www.episcopalchurch.org/ to learn more about the Episcopal Church.  To learn more about the diocese of Virginia, to which Grace belongs, visit www.episcopalvirginia.org/.

Will I feel comfortable attending if I have never been to an Episcopal Church before?

Checking out a new church can be quite intimidating, especially if you have never attended church, or that particular expression of church before.  Here at Grace, all people are welcome.  Whether you have been attending an Episcopal church since you were a baby in the nursery or have never stepped foot inside a church before, you will be welcomed at Grace.

What do I do when I arrive at Grace?

Arriving a few minutes early for the service is recommended to allow time to park and settle in. Ushers or greeters will provide a bulletin to guide you through the service. You are free to sit anywhere in the pews. The pews have racks in front containing various books and guest cards. Notably, you’ll find the red Book of Common Prayer, also known as the Prayerbook or BCP, which includes service sections (referenced in your bulletin for page numbers), and the dark blue “The Hymnal 1982” for music.

What does worship look like at Grace?

Our worship, guided by the Book of Common Prayer, features consistent prayers and service forms each week. Services typically include readings, prayers, hymns, and a sermon. Led by a priest, the congregation actively participates through singing hymns and reciting prayers, creeds, and psalms. You can follow the service using your bulletin and choose to either join in or simply observe. Remember, an open heart is all you need for worship.

How can I become a member of Grace Church?

We welcome you as you take this next step in your faith journey by joining our faith community. If you are interested in becoming a member, please click here to access the membership form and submit a form for each member of your family requesting to join.

Are you LGBTQIA+ Affirming?

Yes.  We believe that God loves us all – no exceptions.  Grace is fully affirming and inclusive of all LGBTQIA+ people, no strings attached. The Episcopal Church welcomes you. We believe that everyone is a beloved child of God, deserving of dignity and respect. For more about this, please click here.
