Next week I will thank you for our time together.

This week the reality of leaving hangs heavy.

Here’s what I will miss:

• Walks to the river
• The distant view of the US Capitol
• Watching airplanes descend toward National Airport
• Elmo’s, Trader Joe’s, Del Ray Cafe and Zento Sushi
• The quiet of my apartment
• Writing messages and musings
• The architecture of Grace Church
• Stained-glass windows aglow with sunlight
• The nave bathed in candlelight
• Glorious organ and choral music
• Anglo-Catholic worship
• Gorgeous altar flowers
• The fragrant smell of incense
• Singing the Lord’s Prayer
• Sacred conversations
• Navigating conflict
• Vestry meetings

And most of all,

I will miss YOU!
